Irlam & Cadishead over 50's Art Group

Spotlight on: Cadishead Arts Group

Chair : J. Shannon Secretary: J. Haves

We meet every Monday 10am at to 12.00am St Mary's Church Hall, Penry Ave, Cadishead, we engage in painting and other art forms. If you are interested in joining simply turn up or ring Jim Hayes on 07811016140.

How we got lottery funding:-

When asked what applying for funding was like, secretary Jim Haves said:
"It got easier each time! We got to know what was expected of us, we learnt how to fill in the application forms, what wording to use and most important how to send back satisfactory feedback and financial accounts of how money was spent. (This has to comply with the reasons you give for what you wanted the money for in the first place).

With regard to the "Awards For All" funding we have specifically asked for funding for a pottery course, tutoring, transport and some art supplies for our group. We have to make sure that we don't spend it on anything else. However, as with all funding, if there is a surplus of money after all goals have been completed you must offer that surplus back. If this amount is relatively small then the chances are you will be told to keep it as long as you spend it for the benefit of the group.

If we, a small group of ten, can get a Lottery award then anyone can. You just have to apply and keep your fingers crossed. Remember though that your chances will improve significantly if you make your request honest, clear and concise. Further, if your feedback and accounting are also clear and concise it will stand you in good stead for any future requests."
